DWI / Alcohol Influence Report

This classroom section follows Missouri Alcohol Influence Report (AIR), Form 2389, revised August 2018, as published by the Department of Revenue when checked October 3, 2026. The form layout follows the instructor’s supplied AIR. Use fictional scenario facts. Downloads are marked Student Report — Classroom Simulation.

Complete the assigned exercise

  1. Identify the subject and vehicle. Select existing People and Vehicles records, or choose Enter here. Linked corrections update the AIR. CDL status is in People; CMV, hazardous materials, and ignition interlock are in Vehicles. County and city remain editable. An untouched section does not print.
  2. Document contact and observations. Identify who observed operation and the facts supporting the contact. Describe observable behavior and possible explanations. An unchecked observation is not an automatic negative finding.
  3. Record field-test status and details. Choose Performed, Not performed, Refused, or Unable to safely perform for each assigned test. Document actual scenario observations, instructions, conditions, and limitations. No clues or results are preselected. This site does not train or certify SFST administration, assign a pass/fail result, or estimate BAC from clues.
  4. Document chemical-test requests separately. Record advisement, response, counsel requests, opportunity to contact counsel, test authority, collection, and results. Use Pending result or notes instead of inventing a number. Values use percent units: enter 0.080, not 8, for a scenario result of 0.080%.
  5. Record the interview accurately. Distinguish the officer’s crash information from the subject’s answers. Document whether the interview occurred, rights advisement, waiver or invocation, and unanswered questions. Do not fill in answers the scenario does not supply.
  6. Write the narrative and document references. Describe the driving evidence, chronology, observations, decisions, and supporting facts. Copy buttons fill empty fields only; copied facts must be reviewed after source changes. Record which supporting documents were provided, pending, or not applicable.

The AIR does not replace an arrest report, PC affidavit, citation, or crash report. Complete the sections your instructor assigns. Under this RMS’s classroom rule, a warrantless arrest requires a PC affidavit; an existing-warrant arrest must identify the warrant.

Printing and saving

Download DWI / AIR PDF produces the populated AIR pages and notes. Download PDF to submit also includes the RMS front sheet and other entered sections. Unused AIR pages are omitted; the printed layout within a used AIR page stays intact. Long answers and details without a printed box appear on labeled notes pages. An asterisk or “See notes” in a box points to those details.

Check boxes and text fields remain fillable in a compatible PDF reader. Save report for later downloads the .rms.json file needed to reopen the entire website report, including links. PDFs cannot reopen the website report.

Document references are a checklist of what the scenario provides; entering a reference does not attach a file. The AIR includes references to breath-test checklists, maintenance records, laboratory results, and other supporting documents. Follow the instructor’s directions for submitting those separately. Typed signatures and training certification apply only to the assigned simulation.

Missouri sources and discussion points

Completion reminders identify missing or inconsistent entries. They do not decide probable cause, impairment, admissibility, or legal sufficiency. Use current instructor-approved materials for those discussions.
